Learn an exotic tongue by CLICKING HERE !!!!

This is a great site to learn the basic phrases which travelers use!

You can read the words and listen to their correct pronunciation as well!

I’m planning on dedicating some time to learn the basics of Swedish, Danish, Finish, Russian and German!  If I study each language for two weeks, I’ll be ready to cruise the Baltic Sea in 10 weeks!

Can’t wait!

Can you tell?

Ice Chips

Saturday, April 22nd, 2006

I have been pretty busy lately during the days, waking up early and going to bed kind of late. Anyway, the ONE night I went to bed early this week, something happened which disturbed my sleep.

I was SOUND asleep when I suddenly feel ice chips falling on my face. It took me a while to wake up from profound sleep.

Once I woke up, I looked around and realized I was sleeping on my bed (which of course has a sturdy ceiling above it). And I felt the ice dropping on my face again.  I was sleepy and confused.  It was as if there was an indoor hail storm.  How is that possible?!?!?!?!

I thought I was going mad UNTIL I figured it out!!!  Somehow the air conditioning vent that is RIGHT on top of my bed got SO COLD that it froze and had ice particles inside and when it became to much for the machine, it started to SPIT THE ICE OUT!

Anyway, the problem was fixed, and the filters were cleaned out from the A/C. So I’m not expecting any more hail storms in the near future!

Just thought I’d post my wierd encounter with indoor climate conditions.

Hope y’all have a great weekend! :)

Rock Climbing through my dreams

Wednesday, April 19th, 2006

You know there’s a quote I like very much - "if you can dream it, you can achieve it" (I think it’s a quote by Walt Disney).

Anyway,  I had a wonderful dream -  I rock climbed!  I can even remember how it felt to reach the top! It was great!!!!!  I bet the real thing is MUCH better!  I haven’t even attempted rock climbing in the past ten years, and I only tried it back then because it was part of my P.E. class when I studied in France.

Now I REALLY want to try it!!!!

Need to get my hands on a ROCK CLIMBING for Dummies book!

I think I might have seen Santa

Monday, April 17th, 2006

I think I might have seen Santa Claus TODAY!  Really, I could have sworn it was the jolly ole fellow who delivers presents at Christmas time.

Either Santa moved to Mexico, he has an identical twin or I had a heat stroke while driving.

Regardless, it brought a smile to my face!

SUDOKU

My new challenge………. SUDOKU!

It’s like a crossword puzzle without the words, it’s not really a game - BUT still FUN!

I recommend you check it out, I have heard it helps your brain function quicker!

And if you are a bit of a geek, I can guarantee you’ll have trouble stopping playing.  I downloaded the free trial from their website - www.sudoku.com

The instructions are simple - all you have to do is fill in the blanks with numbers between 0 and 9.  You’ll have 9 boxes on the grid, each box must contain the numbers 0-9 ONCE (no repetitions allowed), plus 0-9 have to be in every one of the horizontal and vertical lines of the "puzzle" as well (can’t repeat either). No number can be in a box twice or a line.  There is only ONE answer which is correct.  The computer will let you know if a number you filled in is wrong, because it will display it to you in red.

Anyway, good luck playing!

Passion

We work for a living but WHAT do we live for?

What keeps us alive????

I guess every person has their own list, I’ll share mine.

I live for watching sunsets, my dear family, hearing the ocean waves crash against the shore, my loving friends, music, feeling the wind on my cheeks, romance, laughter, every spring, slow dancing, writing, love, poetry, and most importantly to be the best person I can be and carry out whatever God’s plan is for me.

Those are MY PASSIONS…… think about it…… what are yours?

Monclova City!

Sunday, April 9th, 2006

The internet as we know it has finally reached Monclova!!! Monclova is a relatively small town in northern Mexico, which I am currently visiting.

Somehow having an wireless internet conection makes me feel closer to home!

I drove here this morning so I could be present at the engagement party of one of my cousins. I had no idea what to expect, but this is how it went: Arrival, blow dry hair, do makeup, dress up, meet with the families, and then lunch on the terrace with 40 of the closest friends of my cousin and her fiance. It all started 11 and a half hours ago, and people are still drinking downstairs.  And this is JUST the engagement party! I don’t know what will happen at the wedding!

It’s been interesting to view the mechanics of how things go on around here. They seem different.  We are from the same country, but in many ways seem to be from different worlds.  Men and women sit at seperate tables and have little interaction with each other.  And I hear that’s how weddings work here as well. I’ll have to wait until November to see that!

Anyway, Thank God for the internet….and all His other blessings.

I’m going to join the party again now, the second mariachi just arrived!

YEAHHH!!!!!!!!
