New Things & MTV

Monday, September 25th, 2006

I got a new recipe and a new evening gown this week!

I believe a celebration is in order!

Plus to those of you who are in Mexico - there’s an MTV party on Wednesday! E-mail me for invitations! No cover, open bar and MTV award nominee bands playing!

Temporary vs. Permanent

Tuesday, September 19th, 2006

Good byes are not usually the happiest of times.  But we usually know that we’ll be seeing our loved ones in the near future, and the hope of such reunion keeps our spirits up.

Death is a very different good bye, and in my personal opinion, the most painful.

My grandfather’s brother passed away this week and it was sad to see him go. Not only was he an extraordinary business man but also a legend in baseball. The tributes to him were beautiful and I’m sure he’s in a better place now, nonetheless we’ll miss him.

Off to Houston

I am off to Houston for the next five days, and should be back by Monday with Texan stories to share.

I will never forget the morning of September 11, 2001.  Northern Mexico was being hit by a hurricane, the governor cancelled classes for all schools, and many offices remained closed because of the flooding and continuous heavy rain in the area.  My whole family was glued to the TV watching the river banks when the first World Trade Center tower was hit.

I can’t begin to describe what I felt, and don’t know how many tears ran down my cheeks that day, nor do I remember how many calls I made or the many calls I received. But what I do remember clearly were the moments when I heard back from my family and friends, knowing that they were safe was priceless.

I can’t even begin to imagine the horror many people went through, and to this day my prayers are with the victims, their families and loved ones.

There are many sites that are tributes to what happened on that horrible day.  I’m attaching two on here, the song of Can’t Cry Hard Enough is beautiful - listen to the lyrics.

No more white

Sunday, September 10th, 2006

Another Labor Day has gone by, and the summer is slipping away.  My white pants, sandals and short skirts will be in storage until next spring. It’s now time to have an umbrella handy and start making plans for the holidays with family and friends. (Thanksgiving and Christmas)

Time seems to be flying by!

I realize that I’m getting older, I just wonder if I’m getting wiser as well.

Avec Activity

Sunday, September 3rd, 2006

I thought the last few days were going to be relaxing, and I would be able to sleep off my cold.  But of course, as usual, things come up ALL the time! I wonder if it happens to everyone or just me?

But that hasn’t kept me from recovering and I did spend all afternoon yesterday by the pool with friends.  So I won’t complain.  I went out with a big group of friends last night and one of them got into a fight with another client at the club…..not fun at all, I couldn’t get back in party mode after the fight. I’ll tell you all about my dissapointment later, and about the cruise as well.  Have to run now……celebrating two birthdays in the family at lunch! Don’t want to miss the lasagna!
